Semi-arid region (dryness ratio 1 to 7) of grasslands across which shrubs and trees are scattered. The grasses are typically tall and fast-growing, that become dormant during and immediately after the short wet season. For the remainder of the year they are brown and dry, particularly prone to extensive fire disasters. (Material V - Gunn, S.W.A.
